Accompanying evolution of mathematics in secondary education

The constitution of Cadiz (1812) is the starting point of the secondary education in Spain. These studies run with the development of the middle class as a new and differentiated social group, and the new studies are identified with this new social class. In parallel with this birth of the secondary studies, the mathematics contents in the programs grow and consequently, the traditional humanities contents are reduced. This historic stage ends with the far-reaching Moyano?s Law in 1857.
