Al cumplirse 250 años de la publicación de las Liciones de mathemáticas en España, presentamos una semblanza biográfica de su autor y la reseña de los aspectos más destacados de la obra, así como la trascendencia de la misma en los círculos académicos españoles de la segunda mitad del siglo XVIII.

There are just passed 250 years from the first edition of the book Liciones de mathemáticas, written by Thomas Cerda in Spain. In this paper we introduce a short biographical semblance of the author and we review the most outstanding traits of the book. We also underline the influence of this work in the Spanish academic groups at the middle of the XVIII century.
